  1. If angry PTSD victims set the agenda the wars will never stop.

  2. I don’t know who the woman ranting in the video is, so I don’t understand what PTSD means in relation to her, but I think PTSD is a real thing and serious problem for people who suffer from it. I suppose you can blame the victim and say that soldiers who suffer from PTSD have no one to blame except themselves, since they volunteered to serve in the military.

It probably serves no purpose to blame Islam for the evil done in its name anymore than it does to blame Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism or any other religion for the stupidity of some of their true believers.

One thing I do find curious is when progressives in the west feel the need to defend Islam in a seemly reflexive action based on the fact that they disagree with conservatives. I.E., if the people I hate, hate Islam then I must defend it.

Personally, I have no love for the Military-Industrial complex that drives much of the foreign policy of the US and other western states, but that doesn’t mean i want to live in a world controlled by religious nuts who think that they can doing anything they want to defend the honor of their sky dude.

  3. @Joe: I agree with most of what you said, FWIW. (BTW, you can look up Brigitte Gabriel on Mr. Google’s excellent search engine at your leisure.)

I don’t think it’s defending Islam from conservatives, I think it’s defending a vulnerable minority from bullying and intolerance. And I think we can all agree that we _hate_ intolerance 🙂

And I don’t particularly want to debate that some people are horribly persecuted in some Muslim countries. That’s part of the ancestral heritage of all humans and is deplorable. In theory “we” are meant to be behaving better than that.

  5. Yup, if they win the World Cup, they’ll be insufferable!
