5 Dirty Secrets About the U.S. Economy

Posted on May 4th, 2014 at 14:55 by Sueyourdeveloper in category: News

If there’s one thing I hate these days, it’s discussing the U.S. economy.

Will raising wages by seventeen cents destroy humanity? Will edible deodorant add 0.000007 percent to GDP? If we resurrected giant man-eating dinosaurs, could we use them to keep our warehouse pickers in line? Isn’t it awesome when the Dow hits a record high (but everything else flatlines or shrinks)?

I feel like I’m listening to a debate on the noble merits of true love between the Real Housewives and a bunch of broseph PUAs.

By my count, there are five dirty secrets about the economy we’re not supposed to know.

tl;dr? Fix the economy, stupid.

  1. The dirty secret is that most americans are selfish, ignorant, pigs that don’t measure up to the WWII generation. They’ve been remade into the image of Ronny and his hoard.

  2. “Where will the money come from? Dirty secret number three: It doesn’t matter. Print it. Borrow it….” Yeah well, that is what Q.E. has done and went directly to the 1%, the effect of which is seen in the highs the market has reached. @Chas, you stated that most Americans are selfish…etc. I disagree. The non so called 1% are highly and purposely manipulated into complacency by a corrupt political system controlled by the wealthy. What is happening is the final endgame now: creation of a 2 class system of rich and poor backed by the said corrupt political system and enforced by militarized police. They are getting away with this by cleverly distracting the non rich with many of the items mentioned in the article: be it mindless TV, fast food, cheap energy, etc…. that give the illusion of prosperity. Will it work? In the end it will fail, but it will be very ugly. Imagine this: the day the non rich are forced to walk or ride bicycles for transport because they cannot afford petro. When that day comes, believe me, you do not want to be in U.S. Is it preventable? Until you see mass protests against the underpinnings of the corrupt political systems, example, the supreme court’s citizens united decision and s forth, that actually and clearly show the world that the “non rich” get it, well, then I doubt it will happen.

Christians in Virginia plan 40-day fast to protest gay marriage

A Christian group in Virginia is planning a 40-day fast to promote its conservative definition of marriage.

The Family Foundation of Virginia is encouraging pastors and congregations to fast between Aug. 27 and Oct. 5 to fight against the legalization of gay marriage — in Virginia and around the country.

The Christian tradition of fasting can include anything from consuming only water from sunrise to sunset, to abstaining from a particular temptation — such as chocolate.

I’m sure their god will listen to them after not eating their kit-kats for a while.
